Since they make the prefab boxes to fit the power slide rear window trucks now, I was thinking of replacing the factory sub, which doesn't seem to do much, with a set of 8s or 10s behind the rear seat.
Has anyone tried to utilze the factory sub speaker leads to run signal to an aftermarket amp?
Is it crossed over at the radio output to let out only the lows?
Signal to factory sub enclosure is not altered at the back of the head unit. If you take your back seats out and then take out the factory sub, you will see an amp attached to it.
I made my own enclosures to fit 2 10" subs behind the rear seats, used signal input for an amp from the rear door speakers. I did not use the factory sub feed.
Do you guys have any pics of you boxes in the truck? I currently don't have and enclosure and planning on making one. I'm looking for some design ideas.

Why didn't you use the factory sub feed? Also, do you have the rear underseat storage?
I will post some pics tomorrow. I did not use the factory sub feed because the factory sub sounded so **** poor I did not want any part of it. I used line level converters tied into the rear channels to make an RCA type plug feed into my amp.
FYI, there is a crossover at each speaker for the doors (just a little resistor soldered onto the mid range speaker). I junked this stuff too.
