e-350 van air pump?

Hi, new here, hope this is the right area to post.
I recently bought a 1996 e-350 van with a 5.8L engine converted to propane.
As it was running, the pulley for the airpump twisted off. It also destroyed the belt 4061025.
Turns out, it wasn't hooked up anyway, but now my belt is loose.
Question:
Should I replace the airpump and leave it unhooked and use a new belt, or leave it and try using a shorter belt instead?
Has anyone bypassed the airpump before? Is there a specific belt you use now?
Thanks.

I would just get a smaller belt I if I remember right those pumps are over $100 and all they do it pump fresh air into the exhaust to the catalytic converter works better.

Well, an update. It turns out that you cannot replace the belt with a smaller one.
You have to replace the airpump and use the original size belt. The tensioner is reversed if you try.

Welcome to FTE

Is the shaft the pulley fits to on the smog pump still good?

You can just buy another pulley, which does not come with a new or re-manufactured smog pump, btw.

The pump is sold separately, the pulley is sold separately.

I can give you all the Ford part numbers, including the belt.

And FYI: FTE has 4 Ford Dealer parts department sponsors that sell parts to members at a discount off the actual Ford suggested retail price.

Two are located in the Seattle area, one in Las Vegas, and one in Rhode Island.
