I need help in choosing a cam? I have a f-250 4x4 400w/c6. I want good towing and of road power. I want the power that the 400 should be making. I want to be able to run the stock valve train, only changing the cam.
I am running 4:11 w/33''s. I also have full length heddman headers I would like to use. I have an edlbrock intake w/egr. I'm in ca. After my smog test I also want to go to a 4bbl. Or sould I just advance the timming to pre-72 settings? If so what about the low comp?
well theres not much you can do bout factory low cr rather than buying high cr pistons or milling your heads... those 2 cams work great under your conditions

Totally right!!! I thought I wanted to JUST change the cam, but I wanted killer low end + CR. Ended up changing heads over to Aussie's. Best move I ever did. Aussie or 351c heads will give ya increased CR. It gave me enough to take my stepdad's 302 in 1/8's, though he slightly edges me in 1/4's. I still have the advantage 'cause I'm no SO purpose built to the strip that I sacrificed low end, so I still use my 'bump' as a hauler. Thinkin' about a cam change when time comes that I'm not haulin' with it.
