Hey guys ive got a 1993 F250 Extended Cab truck and i want to put some amps and 1 maybe 2 subs in my truck. The only place to mount them is possible under the rear seat. Im looking at those shallow subs because i dont think i would be able to squeeze a regular sub under there.
I was just wondering if any of you guys with extended cab trucks have managed to put any stereo equiptment under your rear seat and how you managed this also if any of you have any pics that would be great. Thanks
Although I haven't done a sub install personally, I've seen a few different pictures of other members trucks on here. Seems the common thing to do is to rig up some new seat brackets to lift up the rear seat. If you can lift the entire seat up about 6 inches or so then theres plenty of room under there for a forward facing sub box.
I'm sorry I can't remember who all exactly posted their subwoofer pictures, perhaps they can chime in and provide some better details
Seat lift would be the best bet, although 6" is way too much if you plan on any "normal" sized people using the back seat, ok for kids. There's a kit out there for the seat lift, or just make it yourself with some angle iron. What size subs do you want? A couple of 8" will sound good, I had a couple of 8" JL audio subs and they sounded better than most 10's.
Weird but my truck came with the ranger type side seats... i have two custom made sub boxes in their holding two 12s. Dont mean to show off just thought it weird it had no bench seat.
5.5" C-channel allowed just enough room for a pair of 8" subs under the rear bench in my '90(still needed a custom sealed box), and kept the top edge of the seat back below the rear window trim. It sounds great and actually produces a much more comfortable seat height. My seat no longer flips forward however and the seat back is fastened to the back of the cab with a couple screws visible at the top edge.

do you think you could do me a favour and measure from the bottom of the seat to the floor on the front there. In my 1993 the seat is already lifted up off the ground. it look almost the same height as yours. Im pretty sure the 92-97 trucks came stock like that because my dad had a 1987 and the seat was almost on the ground.
