good god! NO!!!!!! if its warped bad enough to cause the vb to not seal then just imagine how the drums and clutches are sitting inside the case. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! if the case is warped then you need a new case!!!!! get rid of that shop!!!!!! he is trying to patch the truck enough to get rid of you, that trans is NOT going to last! it is lawyer time
My wag is you have internal leaks.
The chip is likely raising the EPC and making the leaks worse.
Gaskets are a bandaid for a the real problem and it will come back.
simmer down LOL. he is getting me a brand new case, and a brace kit for it, and putting a 15 thousands thicker gasket to help in the future from warpage

What is this brace kit?
Picts? Part#? Who makes it? Anything?
See what info you can get on it.
ya know the bolts with the valve-looking deal that bolt the case and VB together? those 3 (i think 3) bolts go through into the core of trans. they leave a gap between the area they thread into, and the case. these are a shim that fit into that area, to keep it from warping when you tighten them. plus, the gasket is supposed to keep warpage down too.

The center support has fluid feed bolts. The bolts are hollow so fluid can flow thru them. They make a spacer that will go in between the t-case and the center support so not to stress/distort the case. Problem can exist from over tightening of the support bolts.
its also very important to remmeber the order that those 3 bolts come out, he could have easily damaged them if he tried to get the drum out before removing them and vice versa. bu i still say its a typical flat rate tranny overhaul, charge for the whole deal and just replace the burnt clutches
well, got it today. seems good. hopefully. but, the sun of a buck wouldnt give me any reciept since i wouldnt pay for the case. he says hes voiding the warranty. i said, "if it goes out within 6 mos i'll still sue ya. i have the reciept from the other day that says 6 month warranty." he got mad and told me to just take it and go.
