well i pulled the valve and there are no odvious cracks in the intake runner I'll have to che a gain later also looked down the coolant passages at the bore and there is no odvious pitting.
Does any one have a picture of the cylinder bore that was pitted from cavitation?
I will have to search my hard drive some, I think I have a couple somewhere.
But as soon as I say that, I have to tell you most of the pitting will be on the coolant passage side of the cylinder wall.
The inside of the cylinder will look normal, except that tiny hole where the pit on the other side finally made it deep enough to come through the cylinder wall.
Cavitation is a bit like drilling a hole in a piece of steel.
You can have a rather big hole on one side, and no indication at all on the other side till right before the drill bit breaks through.
If you stopped drilling at exactly the right time, there would be a leak through the steel, and a very evident hole on one side.
But the hole would be tiny on the other side.
With cavitation, when you look in the cylinder, you are looking at the tiny sized hole side of the steel.
