Hi new to the forum! Been reading for the past few days trying to find a solution to my problem. 1999 F 350 7.3 6 spd. When the engine is cold it start rough and idles rough, smokes like a train. The longer it sits and runs the smoke gets less and less. After it warms up (operating temp) it still idles rough. Doesnt miss or skip while driving down the road. Ok this is what I have done. Pulled the VCs and checked the wiring harnesses. One side had been replaced recently retorqued rockers and injectors. Found some injectors loose, one was finger tight! Checked the oil level in Hpop res. About 3/4 to a inch from the top. Has a bad exhaust leak at the turbo I am currently fixing that. The bolts that hold the exhaust side of the turbo together had came out! The y that bolts on the turbo from the exhaust manifolds is leaking got to get the gaskets to fix that. I just bought this truck a few days ago It has been sitting for about a year. Checked fuel filter its new. Where to go next?

Check your GPR. Make sure it is supplying juice to the glow plugs. Check it with a meter to see the volts when you turn the key on.
