Talked to dealer they said what they did does not have anything to do with this.
Taken back to dealer in morning to have them look at it.
Trans has never been serviced and has fluid and no burn smell for fluid.
Thank you kevin
The cruise/brake recall is just a fuse harness that puts a fuse on the brake pressure sensor on the mastery cylinder. Perhaps if that fuse has blown or the new harness isn't completely connected, you would get an ABS light. I don't think it would take out the speedo. However, when I had mine done, my alternator went at near the same time (actually the day before.) When the battery reaches a certain point of discharge, the cluster dies and the engine runs kind of rough. Check your battery and make sure the alt is charging.
All other gauges work fine. I will see what dealer says in morning.
I just cant see all this happening at the same time. Trans ,speedometer and abs light ?
Thanks ,let you know what happens.
Unplugging the brake pressure sensor should only disable the cruise control, it won't set off the ABS light. I have a bad sensor in my '03 so my cruise control didn't work, but ABS light was not on. Temporary fix was to unplug the sensor and short the pins in the plug with a piece of wire, cruise control works now, but I should get a new pressure switch put in.
No airbag light, right? when my GEM wasn't communicating, I had ABS, Door ajar and SRS lights, so this isn't a communications issue. In any case ask the tech to scan the ABS system, and not just trouble shoot from the harness.
It was vss sensor ,replace and everything went away and back to normal.
I cant believe one little sensor can mess so muck up.
i removed it and cleaned it off ,but had to replacce it .
Thank you .
