My A/C Heat display is blank. No lights. None of the controls work for the fan or anything else. Exactly coinciding with this, the brake/shift lock is now preventing me from shifting out of Park if I start the vehicle in Park. I have to start in neutral. I have checked all the fuses in the customer fuse panel inside the vehicle. Any ideas?
A couple of months ago I my cruise control went out. I have not yet scheduled the recall appointment with my dealer, but I did get a recall letter a couple of weeks ago.
I took the Excursion in yesterday and had the wiring harness replaced for the speed control. Also the tech said the speed control was leaking so he replaced it. Then he said the brake/shift interlock is bad, $105. I said wait, cause the A/C is not powered up either. Anyway, I read somewhere about this problem(with the overheating of the speed control) that fuses near or around the speed control fuse can go bad, but I don't know where the speed control fuse is? Help?
I have had several responses instructing me to check the fuse box in the engine compartment. Again, I can not find that fuse box. Can anyone verify that there is actually an engine compartment fuse box on a 2002 Excursion, V10, 4x4 and if so, please point me in the right direction, I can not find it. Thanks.
