I have bought a rebuilt 1993 aerostar alternator to bolt on my kit car. All I can see on the back is one bolt. Could someone tell me how such alternator should be wired to my car. A picture would be welcome.
Thanks.

Reason: mistake
Ford has a few different designs of alternators. Some are in the 1 wire catagory some are 3 wire design, old units had mechanical magnetic external regulators. There are some places on this site that lead to learning a lot about the overall adaptability. The unit on my 87 motorhome is a 3 wire design (second generation) with 5 wires on it. Your question is to vague without enough description of the units to begin to sort it out. Terminals are A,S,I on one plug three wires . Other plug two connections stator and field if not mistaken. I am also in the middle of sorting that out as the replacement I got is a Dixie 70 amp model A-217 which is a one wire design with only battery post big wire nut and stator field terminal plug 2 wire. It is aledged to be a Ford designef filament...lol
