What year is your truck? Are you going from a 2G to a 3G ALT.
The newer voltage regulators (VR) found on the newer ALT (2G or 3G) need to have all 3 inputs to make it work.

My conversion harness was purchased locally, but they are available on eBay for $12-15. Summit Racing wants a fortune for theirs, but that is an option too.

A direct connection is more than adequate as well. Funny thing... you won't find a commercially available 3G to 6G conversion connector.
