well... with a sudden spurt of "git-'er-dun" i bring to you...
would have gotten the valve covers on too, but the following picture put a damper on my spirits. figure i'm in for a new set of wingtip valvecover fasteners right away... luckily i got the busted end out easy, even though it was below the head surface... ... this really could have sucked!!!
Great progress!! The headers look great!! Where they hard to get on, I see some of the paint got scratched off on the install. Too bad about the broken bolt, good thing it came out easy!!
they were easy as pie to get on. i really had no difficulty. the scratches were a shipping thing i guess. he had a SBC set just come in as well and they looked worse. i might touch them up later on.
i would imagine they will. they're made out of pretty thick material so i'm not worried about rust or anything. it isn't going to be a show truck so it's not that big a deal if they get discolored i guess. i would have liked to got them powdercoated, but i'm a little excited you see...
thanks colin... i almost wish i had went ahead with the cam kit now, but i'll save that for another year...
hopefully it'll run by thursday. all i've got left is the trans rod extension(to get), install valve covers, plugs, get new wires, PCV valve, couple of new rad/heater hoses, and fluids... i want to get it into the muffler shop by friday but we'll see how it goes...
interior is nice as is. there's decent rust at each box corner behind the rear wheels and one fender should be replaced... other than that she's solid...
