When you go to put new down pipe in it would really help to have one more person to hold new down pipe in place while other person puts clamp on and tightens it. I did mine by myself and that was a pain. It would well be worth some beer to have a friend help with that part.
Definitely get help with the down pipe! Too big a PITA to do by yourself.
Scott- the worst part of my situation is that prior to buying, I couldn't find anything bad about Diamond Eye systems, now I'm finding crap all over about how people have been having a hard time making them fit Live and learn I guess.
Two cuts. At the downpipe and before the cross member and at the rear axle so I didn't have to take the shock off.
A plasma cutter will work also.
I did mine myself and I have offered to put three other PSD 4" systems on. It was simple. Then again, $100 is only about 1-2 hours of shop time and I took me from 7 to 10 with a trip to Subway and three beers mixed in. We did put the muffler on the quiet way and then take it off and turn it the loud way.
What brand system does this(muffler turned around to make it louder)? I hadnt heard of that.

They all do technically. When you look at a muffler there are little clam shells turned out into the air flow. If these clam shells are directed up steam they catch more sound. If they are turned downstream to just let the sound flow over them they will be louder. I think there is some truth to it. Just do yours the loud way (btw, it will be quieter in the cab if you do that, too!)
One last thing, if you want it to be loud like a staight pipe beat all those little clamshells shut. To do this, find a pipe that is 3.95" OD (I am making that up...just slightly smaller than the ID of your muffler) and beat it through the muffler. This is an old antique pulling tractor tip that has worked for me in the tractor scene.

That is why the make hammers!
I have heard of people that have had fitment issues with just about every system. Don't worry, I am not knocking you. (Then again I haven't heard of any problems with the FTE pet systems...or other products for that matter)
I got a trans coming from John wood, he said it might be sent out on monday.... LOL
I am game!!! I need to know how to install mine. We have to talk about how shipping worked and all of that stuff. JW will DEFINATLY be rebuilding my tranny when it is time.

Thanks. Hadnt bought a new system yet but its in the works!
Mine has a heat shield on the transmission passenger side. Had to have someone pry that toward the drivers side long enough to get the new 4" downpipe in position. Otherwise change over was a breeze.
