Hey guys, I have 1997 EX. The bolts holding the exaust pipe to the exaust manifold have completly rusted off. Is there an after market clamp to pull the pipe to manifold....or is removal of the old bolts the only solution?
The passenger side? I bought the parts from ford (about 300 dollars) and did it myself. The ford dealer near me wanted almost 2 grand, I think that included a new head. About seven hours of labor and a good stud extractor and the job is done. Good luck.
Spotty, I used this same "theory" with a c-clamp on my father in laws 88 F350 wit the 460. it works like a charm and has been on there for almost 5 years now. I think I would use this a last resort option though, as, this was on an older truck.

Yeah... I had my old 89 F-250 with a 460... PS manifiold- pipe leaked like crazy. Had a pair of vice grips on it, held for years, donated to a church, but took my vice grips off before I gave it to them (LOL)
yes, there is a clamp specifically made for your application. I Have used them in the past and just used a couple this winter on my plow truck. a 88 2500 with 350. It is basically a very narrow c-clamp with and adjustable head on the top. The top stud has a pointed head that can hold itself tight on the flange on the manifold. The bottom stud has a hat like adapter the positions itself in the flange of the y-pipe so that it is centered. Tighten up the stud and lock it down with the supplied lock nut. Its a good invention but salty. like $18 each clamp.
The product you are asking about is called
Clamp-A-Stud.
part # 17351 this is good between 1 1/4 and 2 3/4"
