The 221,260,289,302,351W are actually part of the V-90* engine family .
IIRC, The Windsor family (besides England's Queen family) is yet another NON-Ford term.
Don't forget the 255 in that family!
Did not the Windsor engine family get its name from where the engines were produced, i.e. Windsor, Ontario, Canada? There is an engine plant in BrookPark, Ohio near the Cleveland airport, is that where the 351C was made?
Don't forget the Boss engines, whom fall into three different "series"
I didn't mean to misdirect, just posting what I knew atm with a nasty head cold. Ford engines can be confusing, but once you get them figured out, its easy, although they have been around soo long, most seem to have mix matched parts of some sort, so build dates and casting numbers will need to be deciphered for overhaul and rebuilds. What really makes me cringe is when someone you know who has a stock ford truck says; yep, its a 305, or a 350 Even a buddy of mine(dodge guy) gets really mad, when he asks for 383 stuff, and the parts doofus asks, oh a stroker 350? Nowadays, depending on what I need, I ask for parts that I know a certain year of car/truck will have so the honda driving parts guy won't get confused when I tell him that I have a 429 in a pickup-and the computer says that that engine never was installed in a pickup. It pays to know your ford lingo, saves alot of time and money, believe me!
The 350 is my favorite engine to HATE! What makes me cringe is when people put 350's in their old Fords, especially 50's F100's and 30's coupes. And the amount of people who do that.
I was watchin' Pinks All Out, and what should roll up but a '32 3 window coupe. So my jaw drops that I get the opportunity to watch this guy kick some chev butt! Then the thought comes into my head "oh no, unless, unless..." lo and behold...350...and well my next thoughts......you oughtta lose now!

Cause 350's are like Hondas, cause most people know what they say about Hondas.
Also regarding the 351M when it is referred to as a modified cleveland, IIRC the 400 was introduced before the 351M came out. The 400 was in cars and then the 351M replaced the FE360 for the trucks.
