Question torsion bar adjustment

Hey guys, I heard that you could raise your front end by tightening the 2 bolts behind the torsion bars. I was going to tighten them both all the way in to achieve 1 inch in height. When I looked at the bolts, the one on the passenger side is out about 1/2 inch lower than the driver's side. Do I tighten them both all the way up, or leave the pass. side lower? Thanks!

jack up the front end o your vehicle, tighten the bolts on each side as much as you want however i owuld not recomend tightening them down all the way, just not a good idea, you can get 1-1.5 in lift up front without tightenin them down all the way, as for your question, once your done tightening them pick a common spot on the fender on both sides and on your tires and just make sure that the measurements are the same (make sure both side are lifted to the same height), hope this helps

The torsion bars are the bars that run parallel to each other, they are located about right under your seats actually once your under the truck, on the back end of the torsion bars you will see a bolt on the back end of each torsion bar, just go under it and tighten each bolt accordingly for the amount of lift you want, again to measure the lift you get you need to mueasure as i stated, hope this helps.

there are two bolt heads, one under each seat, pointed down toward the ground under the truck. as you screw them into the cam they reposition the torsion arm "zero" point and the truck goes up. Originally they are probably not set the same. The adjustment is to take into account variations in the arm, its strength, the weight of the truck side to side (gas tank), etc. It does not change the weight of the truck, or the loading on the arms, or anything. All it does it reposition the zero point. You can normally raise the truck about an inch. move both sides the same and then measure to the fender lip dead center above the front tire and compare.

Done, I measured 3 points on each side before I tightened bolt then after I raised them (3 turns each) I drove around the block and remeasured, I got 1 1/4" at the top of the wheel opening.
THANKS FOR THE HELP

Charlie, it may throw it off aim a little bit because your front end is a little higher which will redirect the light a little higher, i wouldnt worry about it if i were you though, and no problem markcarver, glad to hear things worked out well for yall. O charlie btw, i dont know how your truck is riding know but the front suspension is going to be a little more stiff now, i would also recomend gettin an alignment done.

Yeah once you get the shocks on, you really wouldnt need to wait for them but if you want you can, then get an alignment thats best, and thats why we're here, so next time a newb asks about cranking the torsion bars we don't have to answer and you can answer and look smart! haha
btw, what type of shocks did you go with?
