98 IMCR valve (Intake Runner control )
What does it take to fix the p1537 and p1538 codes
Says intake manifold runner control valve stuck open. bank 1 and bank 2
is there just one valve ?
can i replace it or clean it without removing other parts?
i think it is in the back center of the manifold
is there a link on how to fix this?
Thanks TOM

runner control valve
ok, the intake runner control valves are on the top of the engine behind the alternator at the front of the intake manifold.
they are vacume operated diaphram switches / valves that open and close the interior butterly type valves in the manifold, if both do not work, check the solinoid valve that the vacume lines (of the diaphram vales) connect to.
to check the diaphrams pull the line and gently suck on it. the valve will move. if it does not.. then its bad.. and costly..only avalible from ford.
try a auto recyling center (junk yard)
