well here is my two cents. i love the look of a bad as set of twin stabalizers peeking otu from the front end. the do tighten up the ride. i run a set of dual rancho ones that u actually have to drill teh frame for they tuck up nice so u dont hit them wheeling. they are cheap enough so its not a big deal to buy. however the only reason they would be needed is if somethign was worn out i feel. i put all new ball joints and tie rods in my truck and took all the sway bars out and before i put the new stabalizers on i was going 90 on the highway w/ 37's and felt like i wa sin my old ladys car. so to each his own. if u got a loose front end u can milk it a little longer w/ them

I gotta agree with Tim and Cutts, a stabilizer masks over the real problem...the suspension is set up wrong or worn out, stock or lifted. The only reason for them is for off road racing set-ups with lots of castor.

I never had one on my 97 but I put one on when we started moving cattle to the west end of the ranch this summer... the only thing I've noticed as an improvement is that when the truck tries to chase ruts, there isnt that wicked whip in the steering wheel that sometimes tries to break yer arm... otherwise.. it's a waste of time and money... they dont last all that long on these ranch trucks anyhow... sagebrush and our type of gumbo out here ( has a high bentonite content which dries as hard as concrete ), has a tendancy to take the end seals right out in a matter of a couple months. In fact if you fill your tire wells up with this kinda muck when it's wet out.. and dont knock it out right away and it dries.. it aint coming out except with a spud bar or a big hammer and chisel... let it get in the way of tire travel and it will either stop the tire or rub the rubber right off it ! Fortunately it seldom rains on a regular basis ..... snow melt is our rain.

for an on road truck and very light duty offroad trucks they are not needed for anything other then bragging rights. but when you get into extreme off roading they make all the difference in the world. when you have 7500 lbs of powerstroke 6 feet in the air you want those dual stabilizers there when you land.
