they are a waste and offer no advantage. if you do have steering play all the stabilizer is going to do is mask the problem until it gets so bad it is costly to replace.
i am running 37's and no stabilzer/track bar and the truck drives as good as my dads 07 F350.

yes exactly the same, in fact i have had friends do that. just make darn sure its not a gas pressurized shock
lol, yeah a gas charged stabilizer isnt going to work so well, and i beg to differe on the "no effect" part, how much lift and what type are you running? just because you are running 37's doesnt neccesarily mean you need stabilizers.... if you have alot of spring lift and run big tires the stabilizers will help with road ride quality and will prevent premature wear of components.
I've got one, came with the BDS lift thats on my truck.. don't know that it helps any, never drove the truck witout it.. but every one of my buddys have put them on the trucks they drive, and they all say it helps

currently i run a shackle reversal but no lift any other way.
nah, i disagree, i have had both lifted and non lifted trucks with all sorts of configurations with and without stabilizers and all they did was mask problems. the amount of lift shouldnt have any bearing on steering. if it does then something is not setup right. steering stabilizers are just another way for lift companies to make some more money and for mall crawlers to bling out the front end. i am not downing anyone who likes them for the looks, to each their own, but a properly setup front end/steering should never need a stabilizer. in fact the stabilizer actually causes extra stress on the steering system. it has to overcome the force of the stabilizer, which is why you feel like the ride is better. again it only masks problems.
Well they must serve a purpose or no one would manufacture them, let alone buy them. I just asked a question. Personally my truck is 100 times better with stabilizers on it.

Than can I ask you a question, My truck with a 3" shackle reverce lift kit in front with 33X12.5x16.5. I have a shake in the front when I run over bumps in the road. My steering isn't loose but the wheel will shake after hitting a bump. I think a stabilizer will solve this but I would like to know what you think it is? Thanks

Your feeling bump steer. You need a drop pitman arm with the lift you have.
On a stock height truck (never driven any lifted trucks for any time) I agree with Cutts. Not really needed and even on a lifted truck I can't see what they would do.
I've got bump steer as well. At first I put one stab on and it lasted for about 5000 miles before the stab wore out, so now i have two and have put 20K with no problems. I think my problem in b/c i have 35" tires that are not perfectly balanced.
