Wow i just took a trip to Baltimore from Pittsburgh 215 miles there and i got 12.98 MPG.... Help that is horrible
Having looked at your signature and seeing what you have on the 2000 F250, I'd say you did OK for mileage, assuming that is what you drove. I'd say that it is a really nice truck and fun to drive, but I don't see anything about that truck that would say I'm easy on fuel. Since you have a DP tuner, perhaps you might call them and ask for a tune that might help out with mileage on trips.
I know with my 2002 last year I got around 19mpg on a trip we took. It was bone stock back then. I've since added a 4" turbo back exhaust and did the 6637 mod. Next on the list is a DP tuner and probably the 203 degree thermostat. The city driving I do with the updated mods have raised fuel mileage from 15mpg to around 16.5mpg. Haven't had it out on a long trip yet since I did the mods.
You mentioned that you run in 80econ. Well, I read in a post the other day that somebody, I don't remember who, said that he does that too because he likes the way it drives, but he would get better mileage in the 40econ setting. He just likes the added power in the 80 setting.
Just a reminder to the newbies, air con is ON in every setting but face/off/floor, that'll help the mileage a bit.
I'm running to Pittsburg PA today with new 235/85/16's, quite a change from 285/75/16 BFG TA KO's but after getting my figures straight on the mileage and speed from the GPS I should be able to grab another 1 or 2 MPG's. Slower eastern speeds should help, I'm hoping for 18 on winter fuel.
I've found a home for this baby. Let me tell you there are going to be tears involved when I let him go. My former bride and I bought our first Shih Tzu in 1977 for $500.00 and I've owned a lot of them in the years since. This one is by far the neatest example of the breed I've ever been around. If I could have 2 in my RV with no problems at all I would not let him go. I would rather have him than his mother, but it would be disloyal of me to get rid of her. I can also let her have another litter someday down the road. But the chances of getting another Pita are not real good. If it is any consolation he will still sort of be in our (FTE) family.
Thanx Cris, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed he will never be abused in any way, shape or form. I may let mom have more from the same daddy and see what we come up with. I'm very interested in getting back to the Painted Desert one more time before my demise, so we shall see. That will be a whole lot closer to you.
The price of fuel is killing me It is $4.09 here in Az. I am only getting 11.8mpg per the display. Big red is an 01 f350 sc lb with leveling kit (we think, bought it with it on it) 35's, straight 4" exhast, KN filter, 100 gallon tank in bed. The truck has 105K miles on it. We are looking at getting an SCT X3 programmer in the next day or so but dont know what else to do. HELP!!!
Thanks, Cris
Thats such a sad story. You know what might help though, a second turbo, stage 3 injectors, and possible 5" stacks.

LOL
I will have to tell the husband about your suggestions and see what he says, LOL. I think the time to tell him is this weekend while he is on pain pills from surgery. Maybe I could atleast get the stacks.
Last tank I got 13.58 hand figured. Lie-o-meter is up to a whole 12.0 mpg. We cleaned the EBP tube and sensor, did the zoodad and cleaned the air filter. I was wrong when I first posted, we have an airaid not k&n. I am still planning on getting the 6637 along with cover. We also have the X3 and I called DP and got the 80 econo. Seems to be getting better. Thanks for the help guys!
