What are you refeering to when checking the up pipe and checking boots for cleaning out soot and so on. I'm add a 4 inch SS MBRP from the turbo back and looking to add a programer to my 99.5 f-250 supercab 4x4 will these mods help increase my mpg's
The first thing I would check is the odometer, if that is off the mileage will never compute right. With 35's the speedo should be showing less miles than truly driven which will make mileage look like crap everytime. Several people on here (me included found the speedo off from the factory. With my 33's I have to set the tire size on my Flashpaq at 31.5 to get the spedo /odometer right at 70 mph. I get about 15 mpg average for combo (town/highway) driving. Best this last summer was just shy of 19 mpg one tank when forced to drive slow due to construction on the highway. All this is on the performance setting, 4" turbo back exhaust, K&N cold air filter, 3.73 gears, 33" tires, automatic, and 4x4.
Take a GPS and hit the freeway to check your speedometer/odometer before you go crazy thinking things are all wrong and spending money that we all need to fill our tanks. By the way I will probably be talking with Jody about his tuner and the 80E setting to see if I will see much difference here at 6000 feet.
What is the up pipe and where do you get to it to empty it out
You don't empty them out you just take them off to clean them if you haven't done the ccv mod to stop the oil from getting them dirty. Maybee somone will have a picture to clearly show them to you.
I believe your talking about the intercooler pipes, not the up pipes. Up pipes are behind the turbo, believe me, you do not want to remove them unless you have to. Intercooler pipes on the other hand are the big silver pipes on either side of the engine going from the turbo manifold to the intercooler. Real simple to remove and clean. Just remove the boots and clean then at the same time.
Someone should start a thread just about dogs.. I could talk all day about my Great Pyrenees, Golden Retriever, Springer Spaniel, Rat Terrier and then the next day about our Goats and horses.... Not being sarcastic, just an attempt at humor...
I finally figured out how to turn the resolution down on this damn camera so this should post a little faster. This is Mom and Baby at almost 9 weeks now. Not much of Mom in the photo, in fact I did not even know she was there until I looked at the photo myself. You will also notice some of my computer mess, believe it or not I have a printer, scanner and computer set up in this little area and the dogs insist on hanging out here too.
Well, so much for that, now instead of being too many meg, it is too large. Will go back to square one. I tried to delete the post and it would not let me or I could not figure it out. Sorry.
So come get him. Me coming there is out of the question, sorry. Maybe we could organize a FTE relay team, I would go the first 100 miles and there would be someone to pick it up from there. But I guarantee his personality is so unique there is a good chance he would be snatched along the way.
