Randy, you know that you're addicted. That's right, you're a modihaulic. That's somebody who can't stop modifying their pickup. We may have to have an intervention! Otherwise, that truck will never get done.

Don't worry Jag! I heard there is a new program called "modihaulic anonymous". We can refer Randy to that program... However, it's volunteer, so I don't think he'll go that easily. It's a 12 step program and the first step is the worse. They take all your tools and sell them on ebay.
UPDATE: I have updated the gallery with better "before" and "after" pics, better pics and descriptions of the park lights, the wire harness install and the new headlights. Enjoy.
It took a while to find the signal park lights you were talking about. I like the way they are hidden and mount to the grill itself. Where did you purchase those lights from?

They are motorcycle marker lights. The have a low and bright filament bulb. I got them at a local Harley store.
They come in many different colors, lenses and such. I chose the graphite with blackout amber lenses so they would disappear into the black air dams.
What is hard to see in the pics is that they have a taper angle that matches almost exactly the top angle of the gravel shield. The flat area on the bottom of the headlight bucket makes them easy to mount, since they are flat-bottomed. two screws attach the base, two screws attach the lens cover. three wires: running light, turn light and ground. I'll have to drop the gravel shield to replace a bulb, though.
Nice Randy. I was noticing that the lines (alignment ) on your hood and fenders are real straight. I don't recall ever seen that before even on cover and centerfold trucks. It looks to be a very nice fit/finish. Nice going. Great pics and text too.

R-J, I have been following your mods since joining the board. I am very impressed in your visions and your work. I have plans of doing some changes to my truck to but I cant stop driving it long enough to get started. What headlights do you have installed in the recessed grill ???
keep up the good work ! but you are making me look bad.
Thanks Rick
Randy, Now just STOP it... I can't take it any more....
I LOVE these grill mods... they are fantastic... cool, neat... incredible. Looks GREAT!
But I'm not a darksider...
AARRRGGGGHHHHHHH

The headlights are HD (Euro Style) headlights from LMC (p/n 47-0281). The wire harness is also from them (p/n 47-3660).
I hear ya about being too busy driving it. Many of the mods on my truck were done as a rolling resto. I drove my truck to work everyday (and will again when it is done). The bed mods, running boards, tail lights, hood repair and front tilt, tonneau, gas filler door, as well as most of the running gear and suspension upgrades, etc. were all done on weekends while it was a daily driver.
The other 6 albums in my gallery were after a valve spring broke (lol). It has been down now for two years. I am still hoping to be back on the road by the end of the year. It just depends on what condition I want to drive it in.
Funny how things pile on one another. I just kept saying "as long as you're here, you might as well..." and "you'll never get a better chance to...". So, it all kinda unfolded on its own. One thing lead to another.
Now, I just can't wait to drive it again. I have to be on the road before FF56 is. It's a hot rod buddy thing.
I am truly humbled by the many acknowledgements I receive here, especially considering that this is the first (and only) car or truck I have ever done. I had to learn all of the skills as I went. Many thanks to the numerous FTE'ers who assisted along the way. I am just now trying to pass it forward.
It might take some counseling... but the Darkside can co-exist with the Gennie. When I'm at shows, the Gennie Trucks are my favorites. That's what I drag the Wife over to see. The Hot Rod stuff that I build is fun to drive but let's face it, it's a clone-a-copia......
I'll likely not build a Gennie but I'm glad other people do........
