MOD THREAD - What did you do today or recently?

Hey Guys!

So I have done some mods lately and want to share them with you all. I thought this would be a good time to get a general mod thread going where everybody can post mods, pics, write ups, & even maintenance repairs that they have done.

Anyways, here it goes:

First off, I got my Trans temp & Pyrometer gauges in (Thanks to Bryant - KonaGrown). I love them. They work flawlessly and match the theme I have goin.

They are Autometer Cobalts. What do you guys think?

Also did a little custom tint job on my ford emblem for my grill. Not a big deal but my truck is getting blacked out piece by piece so i like it. Only took about 20 min to tape, cut, & spray.

Before (This is actually the one on my tailgate but its the same thing)

After

HID Kit came in too. Somehow one of the bulbs didnt work so I am waiting for the warrantied replacement set to come in the mail but it'll take at least 7-10 days. So now I am rocking one halogen and one HID bulb. Grrrrr. It is bright as all heck though.

Also, my buddy convinced me that I should take off my running boards. I wasn't so sure about it but I really like the way it looks. Check out the extra clearance. Not to mention it will look even bigger when I gain 2"-3" of tire here within the next 2 weeks with the 35" muds I'm getting. My 34.5"s are almost bald. Looking forward to it.

Before

After

Fixed the rubber piece that was hanging down from my passenger door too. Popped out the stripped plastic piece and used some coated wire to make my own clip. I cant believe I didn't do it sooner. It's been bugging me for years.

So I have another one. Informing you and following up on this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...and-cheap.html

It has now been over a year since I installed the back up lights posted in that thread. One of them finally went out. But for $25 bucks who can complain. I could probably have taken it back on warranty or just replaced the bulb inside but I decided to scrap them and upgrade.

I went to Napa and got some housings that came with 35w or 55w bulbs. They were $14 bucks a piece + I got two 100w aircraft landing replacement bulbs ($13 bucks each). So for a total of about $55 bucks, you can see the result below. They are more beams than floods but I lined them up so they run back off the sides of my truck. Man are they bright. I love them. They blow my previous set up out of the water for about double the price. Still not too expensive though. Enjoy!

I wired them up to my existing set up so I have them on a switch and they automatically come on in reverse

Forgot my brother was on the toolbox in this one ha

Im sure my neighbor that is a few houses down appreciated me lighting up his front door

This one puts into perspective how far these things actually throw

Also, I installed a potentiometer for my gauges (dimmer), so that I can dim them independently and with the stock dimmer.

And last but not least, I bit the bullet and bought wheels and tires.

35 x 12.5 x 18 Cooper Discoverer STT's

Motometal M0961's --- They are 10 x 18"s (-24 offset) . It works well with the suspension level.

I personally think that they make the truck. Not to mention the performance is waaaaay better. Those 10" wide wheels really keep the cab from rolling over while cornering.

By the way, I am aware that there is a big oil spot under my truck. It is not all from me! Although I do need to replace my turbo pedistal O-rings but since I plan on rebuilding a van turbo and installing it before too long, I might as well wait!

Well thats all I have for now. Post away!

Thumbs up Like the new wheels!

Hey I love the new wheels and tires! Can't wait to see them in person

By the way I am a personal friend of Bryces and I am new to this site. I drive a 2003 F350 Powerstroke 7.3 for my daily driver but I also have an 89 Bronco with 6 inches of lift, and a 76 Bronco with 3.5 inches of lift. They all have to do lists of course and any fun ideas are welcomed.

Its in the bed of the truck. I wanted to make sure that the herculiner that I used on my bed rail caps was completely dry before I mounted it back up. Oh ya! The Herculiner!

As for the deal - I dont think that I want to do a deal with your late 99 stuff. Kind of depends on how much you want for it all but with the t4 set up that i will eventually be getting, it will have all that stuff included. So I was thinking about buying and rebuilding a van turbo so I can have a drop in that I can run with tuned down 238/80 hybrids until I can afford the t4. Let me know what you think bro.

And...
Here are some pics, This stuff is awesome. I used some spray on bed liner over a year ago and didnt apply it thick enough so it started to chip. I dont think this herculiner will be going anywhere any time soon. It is raw. Will get better pics soon.

Haha, no. i haven't yet. Its one of few houses that is dark red and its shorter than the rest. I really dont like how I am in a cookie cutter neighborhood but it is only for this last year of college. I miss my property. Sure is nice being in a house though as opposed to an apartment or duplex. But I have a nice view of a cow pasture and the hills out my window. ha

Bryce,

Sounds good to me man, I completely understand it, and if you are going to a t4 eventually then I agree it makes no sense. Not sure what your schedule looks like the next couple of weeks, but I believe that I am going to bite the bullet this weekend and order up those injectors as well as send my DP off for reburning. Let me know if youre interested in helping out with the install

Replaced a water heater.

Engine lift came in handy.

Roger. You know I'm interested. It wont be too long before I'm dropping in a van turbo and injectors and need your help too. Just let me know. I'll be gone next weekend though.

Which injectors are you getting? You going to get that dp tuned for the injectors and your turbonetics for now until you get the t4?
