SO AFTER MORE THEN 2 YEARS... HAS ANYONE IN CALIFORNIA GOTTEN A FINE OR FIX IT TICKET FOR A DPF DELETE>??? I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.. AND LIKE 6 MONTHS AGO I SAW A MOBILE SMOG CHECK SET UP CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE, SET UP BY THE CHP.. I DROVE TWICE THRU IT AND NEVER GOT STOPPED.. IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE AFTER OLD CARS AND THEM JAPANESSE TUNED CARS...
I have this visual that one day, CHP is going to set up check points about a mile past the last "exit" on busy roads going out of state, and simply pull over every out-of-state diesel and run them through....

So what would happen to the 'out of towners'?
Say I came down to Cali in my truck (which is dpf deleted/tuned) and was checked and didnt meet requirements???
yes but you still need to make egt 1/1 ,1/2,1/3 lie. then there is dpf pressure, dist_regenC, dist_regen req, dpf_load, dpf pressure, then maf input to make it all match.
do we really wanna screw with maf inmputs?
and to bust someone takes a $75 pyrometere

Vehicles driving in California are subject to to California law. As for no DPF, doesn't matter what state you are in, that's a federally mandated emissions component, so you could get in trouble in ANY state.
In reality, is anyone really going to check for a missing DPF? People used to gut CATS when they first appeared, yet for as long as I've been here in CA, I've never seen a mobile check stop looking for missing emissions. For sure, it's checked during our biannual smog emissions tests.
I'm not sure how the State could manage pulling over every diesel-looking vehicle to check for missing pieces. Maybe it's easier to stop big rigs since they're easy to spot, but not every pickup truck is diesel...and I suppose one can swap-out his fender vent badge to a black one so it'll look like a gasser. Black tailpipes aren't necessarily a giveaway. Everyone's gasser tailpipe is black from what I can see.
I suppose if *everyone* is deleting their DPF's on a wide scale basis, they might do something about it, but I think it's probably not worth the resources or expense to do it in practice.
