It probably does but we don't have roadside stops. It is once a year, get inspected and emissions if required. If you own a car and put on less then i believe 600 miles a year you are exempt from emissions. I know it might of sounded like something different but the roadside checks is what i was referring too more then anything. I have heard of the state police in certain area's dipping the tanks but have not seen it or had it done. I have seen pickup trucks squating under their load, ride by the police and not be pulled over.
Yes it does relate to Federal law but only **** controlled/liberal states like Cali take the time and money to enforce many of these asinine laws all the while NOT letting local officials enforce FEDERAL immigration laws... I guess my smokey truck does more harm than the illegals I keep seeing in the news robbing, killing, etc.....oh I forgot....they may be voters for some politician some day so we can't touch them...
Fix it tickets for loud exhaust, no bumpers, tinted windows etc. has been around for a very long time. I imagine the CHP who wrote all the fix it tickets in the public parking lot was just a matter of connivance, like the shooting fish in the barrel thing. Roadside inspection for smog? Maybe, but until the state can make MONEY from it, I would bet against it. Right now it’s a Federal law to remove the DPF. I don't believe the state will spend their resources to help the feds. Don't stand out in the crowd and you should be OK.
im running my dpf with the guts knocked out and having real good results, we are currently playing with the exhaust pressure switch, there is a way to modify the switch and temp sensor so it will run correctly
also im curious as to why anybody would spend 300 bucks for a straight pipe and be worried bout who might look at it. like i said before just knock the guts out and put it back on. and for those that talk smack to us for modifying our exhaust well you just really dont have a clue about what a real truck is for in the first place....this is a free country i spent the 50 grand i can do whatever the hell i please with my truck. the whole point is to make better what ford has done pretty good!!!!!

Most people spend the money on delete pipes so they can put a "intact" CAT and/or DPF back on the truck incase they need dealer service or want to sell the vehicle. The few hundred bucks in delete pipes is much cheaper than $2000 plus for a new CAT and DPF.

Yes, It's very smart to keep all parts and be able to re-install them any time
for any number of reasons.
Where did you see the CHP doing inspections? I live near your area.
Just past the stop light in Cool on Hwy 49 (heading towards Auburn) -- that way they caught all the loggers coming down Hwy 193 and gravel trucks on 49 and 193. They sell red dyed diesel in Georgetown, so that spot would catch anyone from up there heading to town as well. Haven't seen a CHP trap for awhile tho...
