ok i have looked and looked and looooooooked where do you get a 4bbl carb and intake for the 300? exspecially in canda -PS i dont like internet orderind but i will if have to thanks
I just ordered an Offenhauser 4-barrel intake for my 300; I got it from Summit. I know you said that you don't like shopping online, but I find it really convenient. Summit does have a printed catalog as well. Sometimes Offy intakes show up on eBay as well. I'm not really sure where to get one without going online.
Check holleyperformance on eBay. They have a few carbs listed at various times that will work with a 300. The 4160/8007 390 cfm, 4160/1865 465 cfm, the 470 cfm Truck Avenger, etc.
lmc truck has some decent prices for carbs and intakes. also as said above try summit and jegs. you can always try the local auto parts stores, although you will probably end up paying a bit more there.
also dont froget Clifford performance....just picked up a intake fron them....using a 390 cfm Holley....could use a 350 CFM 2bbl also...remember that if ya put on one of these intakes, ya will prob have to put headers on also
it seemed wrong to write Edelbrock at the time, but alas, I was at work and was in a rush!
However, I would not advise going too large on the cfm rating. I had asked the question sometime ago, on a different board about stock carb rating and found the single barrel to be about 124 cfm.
Swapping in a two barrel from a 302 or 351 would suffice and a 390 cfm should be the top end for the 300 cid, IMO.
