Need a carb

My 58 has an old Chevy carb on it now. It runs well enough to get it in and out of the shop. But I think its time the old girl starts drinking from a stock Ford carb. I have seen pictures of carbs that look like they have a glass bowl. Was that stock? Does anyone sell stock carbs for the 223? If not is there a better carb to use on the old six?

Advance auto parts new for $140 bucks. Also look on ebaaa. Holley 1904 I can email you a pdf of the rebuild manual if you need it.

So, yer saying a brand new carb, not rebuilt? That's pretty amazing for an old six that hasn't been produced in 50 or so years.....

Man have I got a deal for you. I bought a Holley 1904 off of eBay a couple of years ago and bought a brandy-new rebuild kit. Non-glass bowl, but in great shape. Both have been orphaned since I deleted the 223 from my truck. You pay for the ride and its yours, I just need a picture of it nice and clean sitting on your engine.

You're not gonna like this. I actually had two motors, one was running when I pulled it but had rotten freeze plugs, the other was original to the truck with a completely rebuilt head. PO couldn't fire it after rebuilding the head and stuck in the runner. I tried to sell it for best offer for two months, Craigslist and eBay, not a single nibble. Eventually gave them to a scrap guy.
