The VIN on my '64 slick is F10CK520604. I plugged this into the website's decoder but it didn't provide much info. I would like to know which rear-end it has and if it is open or limited slip.

The axle code isn't in the VIN.
F10 = F100 2WD
C = 292 2V
K = Kansas City Assembly Plant
520604 = 1964
Look on the Warranty Plate...located on the left door face below the latch, second line at the far right for the AXLE code.
Unless the rear endbeen change your axle codesareas follow's for a 64 F100 I beleive; check your data plate as Bill mention and compare the code to these axle codes.
Axle code 10 = 3.25
Axle code 11 = 3.70
Axle code 12 = 3.89
There's more but I bet its a 10or 11 code.

AXLE CODE 3 = 4.00-1 (yes, that's correct, I've never seem that ratio, but you never know) AXLE CODE 4 = 4.57-1 AXLE CODE 5 = 4.10-1
Axle code 10 = 3.25
Axle code 11 = 3.70
Axle code 12 = 3.89 AXLECODE13 = 4.11-1
There's more but I bet its a 10 or 11 code.

Mitch is correct, and there's more that I added above.
The reason I didn't list these codes originally, is because these are for non Limited Slip rear ends.
If the rear end has LS, the door code changes.
Ford also offered a Dana 44 AND a Dana 60 in F100's of this vintage.
More codes for both these two, with and without LS.
All told, there's at least 30 (!!) rear end codes for F100's in 1964 alone.
Bill's a walking "encylopedic"
I got a kinda off the axle question for you guys as well; Bill you mention a LS rear; beside the vin code; how do you tell if its a limited slip rear. I understand how to determine a posi verse. If the wheel turn the same direction up on jack stands its posi right? And if one turns only it a basic rear end;
Is the answer too my question as follows? If one turn one way and the other turn the opposite; is that consider a Limited slip?

1961/66 F100's with LS used mostly Dana 44's...not 9's.
A few 9's were used in 1965/66.
The type of LS used then was an Equa-Lok...the clutch plate type.
From 1959 thru 1966, if LS is present, the rear axle tag number makes no mention of that, all it does is give the ID number...now that...when decoded will tell if LS is present.
However, while the axle ID tag makes no mention of LS, there's another tag there that does.
This tag is at 4 o'clock and has an L on it.
L = LS
Mitch, are you going to Knoxville for the Ford Super Nationals in May?
