The VSS sensor is located on top of the rear gear. Do you have back up sensors on your truck? You can tell if you have four black sensors mounted in the rear bumper.
I was able to find vss behind the instrument cluster and reverse at the back of the fuse box, If my memory is correct reverse if black/pink and vss is grey/black. This is on my 04 5.4l
