I have a 2005 F-250 crew cab with 6.0 powerstroke, I am currently only getting 12 mpg mostly city driving. It seems the more diesel costs the less mpg that I get. My wifes 2004 Excursion 5.4L gets 12.5 in town and 16 on our last trip to Florida.

That's about what I get for city driving with my 5.4L 3V, but closer to 17mpg on the highway at 70 MPH. I'm guessing you have a heavy foot?

I gotta stock 2003 F250 with the 6.0 and I get 16.1 mpg if I'm in the city or highway. Mine never really changes that much.

Since the OP has a gasser, all the replies by diesel owners doesn't really help with his original question! I think he is looking for responses from others who drive SD's with the 5.4L.

By the way, Welcome to FTE!!
