I have a 2005 F-250 crew cab with 6.0 powerstroke, I am currently only getting 12 mpg mostly city driving. It seems the more diesel costs the less mpg that I get. My wifes 2004 Excursion 5.4L gets 12.5 in town and 16 on our last trip to Florida.

I gotta stock 2003 F250 with the 6.0 and I get 16.1 mpg if I'm in the city or highway. Mine never really changes that much.

Since the OP has a gasser, all the replies by diesel owners doesn't really help with his original question!

surprisingly what helps the most for in town driving was a throttle body spacer.... i put mine back on helped 1mpg+ at least ...

Im getting about 32mpg with my 96 Saturn beater!!! haha but My truck on the other hand is sitting in the driveway catching dust getting around 13-14mpg hwy with the 5.4 crewcab......gas has gone up to 3.19 here and diesel is 3.89
.....oh well at least we look cool in our trucks pullin up to the gas stations! LOL
