You say the truck has both banks upstream sensors . The scanner only lists one ? Try another scanner . 01 Ford v8 ? It should have post cat sensors installed also . No codes , only showing one sensor ? No run issues or CEL ? Scanner problem . I may be reading your post wrong . But IDK , give me some feed back .

If you have replaced ecm ,and have no codes , and scan tool only shows one 02 sensor . You need to try another scan tool . Am I mistaken ? Your truck does have 2 upstream o2 sensors and 2 post cat ? If so you can have a scanner issue . I have 5 scan tools . OTC , Launch , MATCO , Snap On . Mac . I have several readers . Some will not work properly on some makes . ( mostly Asian ) But I have had to switch scanners to get proper info . It can drive you nuts sometimes !

it DOES NOT have down stream o2 sensers! I have talked about that with other people, its something ford changed for a couple years! I just talked to my buddy! he has been working on this issue also! supposedly the system is designed foe the o2 sensors to be tied together some how! so i ges nothing is wrong with it!! leave it to ford!!

Strange to me , is it a super duty ? I know emissions were different in some cases for " work " trucks . I know some had less strict emission standards than passenger cars and trucks . That is all I got , sorry .

One more thing , cleaning the MAF does not always work . You may have to replace . MAF reading should = engine displacement at idle . 5.4 engine should show 5.4 - 6.4 Grams Per Second at idle operating temp . WOT should show almost , if not over , 200 GPS , depending on temp and elevation . There is a formula to calculate MAF vs CID . Volumetric efficency ect . If only issue is mileage and sluggishness , ck MAF sensor readings .

Ditch the oil bath filter . K&N is a good filter , if you leave out the oil . The oil will kill the MAF . I just took out 15 in a fleet of used crown vics .,recently purchased by a company .All but 3 needed new MAF sensors . The filters were over oiled . Ck MAF GPS readings to be sure .

WOT = wide open throttle . Mass air flow , in grams per second , should = engine displacement ( at least ) at idle . An engine with 5.4 ltr. displacement should show 5.4 grams per second at idle , no load . A bit more or a small amount under fluctuating is not an issue . Anything - 1 gram needs to be looked at . Over is not much worry unless over 2-3 grams high ,no load. Ac , defrost , electric load .
