Thanks for the info on Sacramento Spring, Steve. I think I`m going
to have to use them sometime in the future, and just wanted to thank
you for your follow thru. Much appreciated.
Steve
Just wondering if you have had your springs done and if so how did they turn out?
I`m getting ready to do mine and am trying to gather information. Thinking about
the front leaf springs that move the axle an inch and a half forward. Hope your spring problem is worked out.
Gary
Gusso,I've had to put off the spring project,as I've recently changed jobs.I will definitely be going with Sacramento Spring. The price was right, and he was very service oriented and responsive.About 8-900.00,I believe.I am going to spend some money on either a combo brake booster/dual master-cylinder OR a front steering stabilizer next, maybe this weekend! That is if I don't win an item I'm bidding on in an EBay auction. One by one,I'm knocking items off my wish list.Steve
Steve ,
Every time your able to scratch one off the list, it`s a great feeling. I think one of the best things I did was to install a 7 inch booster and dual master cylinder. a huge step for peace of mind. Makes a big, big difference.
Best of luck with your truck.
I needed a smog check on my jeep - so I decided to use Eberwein's instead of the other places I have used in the past.
They recomended Betts Spring in San Leandro (sp).
If you use them and they are as good as he thought they would be, please add them to the recomended shops list!
Betts Springs in San Leandro. Excellent work. Others have said a bit pricy. But, I thought rebuilding both the springs for my Motorhome for $350 and rearching them for a smooth ride and extra carrying capacity came out just right. I was very happy with them. The same work now goes for $475 I'm told.
I highly recommend Betts. They did all quoting over the phone. Gave me an appointment for the work. Then they did the work while I waited one morning 8a to 11a and I was done. ;-) Well worth the effort.
Oh, and the new owner of that motorhome is still very happy with the springs and the performance. He tows a boat as I did and it is the perfect set up towing or not.
Just tell them what you what and they will get r done.
Plus, they are a little closer than Sac or Stockton to ya.
You are correct,Clint. Two of the recommended shops do no repair or re-arching,only selling new springs. Those are Betts Springs, and Mustangs Plus.I'm waiting on estimates-even worst case scenario ones from Eberwain's and Sacramento Spring.I need a budget to aim for,as I'm gonna save the money and pay cash.I realize on some things, you either pay or do without.Never one to begrudge an honest man making an honest living,I also realize there are sometimes wide variations in price for essentially the same jobs.I am always willing to pay top prices if the work is top-shelf,I consider it money well spent.Steve.
Betts doesn't rearch springs anymore? They did them for the Semis and such for years and a set for me just two or three years ago. Really ????
$800-900 for spring rearch... I would think you could do better. I wish I had time to call around but, I'm going to be really busy for the next couple of weeks.
I see this is a old thread .... I hope it all works out for you.
