I would like to have my springs refurbished-removed,disassembled,media blasted,repainted,re-arched,relined, reassembled and reinstalled by a good shop.Unfortunately, the spring shops in my neck of the woods are going by the way-side.Does anyone have a recommendation on a shop that could do this, and do it well?I prefer to pay for the privilege as opposed to doing any of it myself.Basically,I want to drop it off,and pick it back up when done.Thanks,Steve.
I know its a long way from your area but there is a great shop that does just what
your looking for in West Sacramento. If your interested:
Sacramento Spring Inc.

"There is a pair of brothers - the Eberwein Boys - in the tower district of Fresno. One runs a spring shop and the other a brake shop, and then together (I think) they run a general repair shop. (1559 Broadway and 1821 Calaveras, a few doors apart.)"
The place may have changed hands by now - they were as old as the hills. . . . .
If I could find a source.AFAIK ,there is no one making springs for my '59 F250.If mine was a half- ton,no problem.
Search through the '48-60 Forum, pretty sure guys/gals have gotten new springs for F250's, plus the advantage of buying new ones is you can change the springrates...i/e say you want more of a "1/2 ton ride" when empty but with the 3/4 ton capacity to haul things.
ibuzzard, the shop I mentioned in Fresno has the stock to make you any spring you want. They can provide a stock set-up, or customize it as you wish.
Springs were an off-the-shelf item the truck companies bought when they manufactured these old trucks. Many used the same springs with different eyes and rates.
They take raw stock and press and bend it into any needed shape - when I had it done for my '59 they gave me what I wanted and saved me about 1/2 what the restoration places wanted.
Got an estimate from Betts Springs in San Leandro.Only 1300.00 for new springs, thats with no installation.Have to be able to do better than that.Am waiting on estimates from Sacramento Spring and Eberwain Spring in Fresno.Open to any suggestions.
Meanwhile, installed my new front bumper today so I get to go play tomorrow.Gonna be sunny and in the 70's @ Santa Cruz.
When I was racing a buddy of mine had Mustangs Plus redo his rear leaf springs for his race car. Ron re-arched them and stiffened them to give him both the specified ride height he wanted as well as spring rate, and I think the price was in the low hundreds, not thousands.
