I will ride the **** out of my YZ 250 and laugh as the cops in their prius' **** their
panties!! I'll run that bike on used motor oil and wild turkey if I have too!!
I got an electric scooter that tops out at 16mph and a gas scooter that tops out
at 32 mph a bicycle that can get to 15mph pretty easily, a sidewalk is all I need to
get where I am going right now(since I have to dodge hummers NOW SCARY!)

Years ago, I called on Sun City (AZ), a retirement community, and there were golf carts everywhere .... seemed pretty cool to me.

Here in Tulsa, they started selling electric cars. Top speed of 25mph's. Would be perfect to run back and forth to work provided I stay on the back roads.

No the bicycle does 15mph!! The YZ does 85mph!! We got that wood gas option
I posted before it is an option and with all the construction that happened here in
the last few years and all the trees that were torn down and disposed of are looking
mighty sweet but they just chopped em, buried or burned them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_gas
Hemp is really what we should be growing for conversion to alcohol fuels and it
also makes a real fine oil that can be used as a base for Synthetic motor oil!! It
produces more energy per acre than corn or any other food plant. It wouldn't
affect the price of food at the supermarket or feed store. Now the stoners might
not like it since folks will be talking their stash and fermenting it to make fuel!!
Henry FORD!! himself grew hemp to use for methanol production, It was a major
crop and it was going to fuel the world after whales blubber and before drilling was
feasible!! If they grow the male and female together it has no real use as a drug
and there wouldn't be a big run on the fields of hippies stealing the weed!!
There are plenty of options out there and once they refine the Lithium chemistry
we will be driving full electric cars, The A123 cells they are working on can be
recharged to 80% of their need in around 5 minutes the remaining 20 takes a bit
longer. The new lithium cordless drills are powered by the A123 corps batteries
and if you haven't used one you don't know true working power for all day use, plus
they are like 36 volts!! The individual cells are 3.5 volts, for an rechargable cell that
is amazing since it seemed like it would be stuck at 1.2 volt forever. Once all the
car companies can decide on a battery configuration then we could have the ability
to back up drop the batt pod then back up to a fresh batt pod. That is the way to go
you wouldn't even need to get out to fill up. The gov't must not be too worried
about the fuel issue since they are still letting jet airlines fly jets around without full
loads of passengers and have you been to an airport lately? I see more fuel getting
burnt then I burn in a month in 30 minutes!! The federal government is bailing them
out and duhhhuhh simple economics, DON'T FLY unless the plane is full. simple

No, the bicycle does 51 mph; at least here it does.

We have pretty steep hills here.

As for the hemp, it's one of the most useful plants to make an array of
products.

It's legally grown and harvested for use products almost everywhere, except here.

you all should see the price increases many other countries are going through now. there is a combination of fuel price hikes and food price hikes that are occuring. many countries, poor ones at that, are paying way more in food costs then we are, but yet make only the fraction of the money. imagine a liter of veggie oil for $5?

Sucks to be them. Would you give up driving a car and living in a nice house with central air so some idiots in Africa can have food to eat? They're just gonna get AIDS and have a bunch of kids with AIDS and all starve to death anyway.

Us we'll be moving to another town has a better commuter train. My girlfriend works downtown and could cut her commute in half if we move. For me it doesn't really matter. I use my pickup for moving and construction jobs. When gas goes up I charge a little extra. People don't mind. It still costs more to book a moving truck or rent a U-Haul. And I figure if people drive smaller cars, more of them will be needing my services.

I have to ask. How many are using more fuel then they need?
Let me explain. There are many who need a vehicle to haul, tow, etc. but he great majority of vehicles with lower fuel mileage will never see a load in their life time. I propose we mandate that all trucks on the road be at least 33% loaded or be able to present proof that they are going to get a load or coimg back from a load.

Of course those who seek to compensate for small item would never allow this. yet they still think they have the right to complain about fuel prices. My advise for them is to buy a car or quit whinning about fuel prices. No one says you have have a truck just to drop the kids off at school.

the problem isnt that WE are dependent on the oil its that every one else is dependent, as long as foreign oil is priced high then the oil being drilled here is going to be priced high, America jsut needs to blow the c**p out of the middle east and move in and pump the oil our selves!

I keep on hearing that these speculators are responsible for the price of oil.

Who are there speculators?
