Rancho or Fabtech

Hey guys, got a question or two. I have an 02 F250 SD 4X4 Extra cab 8ft bed with the Triton V-10. I'm contemplating installing a leveling kit to bring the front end up with more fender well clearence to match the back wheel well. From reading other posts it looks like the leveling kit is pretty popular. Any opinions on either company? Rancho or Fabtech?

Thanks..

in my opinion there all about the same when it comes to small lifts like a level kit. it makes a big diff who you pick when you get 4" or bigger. i have had good luck and ride from Rancho lifts on past truck and liked the ride. my buddy has a Fabtech lift on his chevy pickup and i've never heard him complain about it. i'd say with a level kit chose the one that is built the best and will hold up the longest.

Between the two options I'd do the the Fabtech 3.5 with the replacement shackles.

And I would recommend an adjustable trac bar and some good shocks.

I have the Rancho leveling kit on my truck. I went Rancho because they make seperate gas and diesel springs. I like the ride, no complaints.

I installed 4" rancho springs on my '03 F250/6.0/CC/SRW/LB just because they are the only people I know of who make different springs for gas and diesel.

I originally was going to go with a fab tech 3.5 level but the people at the 4x4 shop where I bought the lift parts told me you need to change the front bolt-on cross member and that insurance companies or ford was not covering accident damage as this was altered. Maybe just BS? I don't regret the rancho spring move. I used BDS track arm drop bracket and pitman arm along with their standard shock set-up. They said I didn't need to do anything with the stabilizer bar links but I replaced them anyway with 3" longer skyjacker links that came with poly bushings.

Happy with the set-up.

Of the two I would go Fabtech, but also take a look at Icon Vehicle Dynamics, formerly Donahoe Racing.
