When I use the turn signals on my slick the lever doesn't "click" up or down. it doesn't return to position after a turn either. Is this normal or do I need to replace the switch? Also, The left signal blinks, while the right one stays solid. Would a new turn signal switch solve any of these problems? I saw one on BOTP for around 60 bucks - I think it is the switch and the cam.
I had this issue with mine too and did the repair yesterday. I went to O'Rielly Auto Parts and they had a turn signal switch repair kit for my truck for $15.00. Mine would not cancel after turning. The cancellation cam in the kit also keeps the lever in position. You have to seperate the cam from the electrical part of the switch . It was a pretty easy repair and now, my turn signal switch works like new.
Yes, the Steering Wheel has to come off. I used a steering wheel puller. Dont try to do it without one. Also, take your old cam with you to the parts store. There were 4 or 5 different ones.
64f-100, Fitch is right on with the repair but you have to be patient with the friction washer that holds the new cam to the switch body. Some of my repairs have been textbook easy and others have been impossible to get tight mostly due to the plastic post being too short. My fix is to get everything in place and then put a dab of JB Weld on the post on top of the friction washer (let it set up over night). I have yet to have one of them come loose. Steve
When you have the steering wheel off check for a ring with a bump on it (cancelling cam actuator). If this is missing or if someone installed an aftermarket steering wheel that part may heve been left off and the TS will not cancell without it. As for one side blinking and the other not: check the TS flasher and the bulb size used in the R TS. I'm thinking a new switch may be in order?

Steve, I drilled a small hole in the center of the shaft and used a tiny sheet metal screw to hold mine together. that was a suggestion given in the instructions and it worked great.
Yes, I forgot about the screw fix. It takes a steady hand to do that successfully. Also if your indicator light stays on and does not flash, it tells me that the bulb is shot. The flasher circuit will only work if the circuit is complete and with a burned out filament, it will not be complete. Steve
