87 f150, left turn signal only..it blinks constantly. I can't turn it off.
the right signal doesn't work at all. doesn't even come on.
so far I have
checked fuse for turn signals(A-OK)
changed flasher
checked all 4 bulbs, they all looked good, and I switched them around .
If I pull a bulb, then the flasher speeds up the blink speed.
turn signal switch???
thanks
Not too hard to take a look see at the turn signal switch. I have a '90 so I don't know how much different yours is. On mine there are (2) screws that attach the horn pad to the steering wheel. They come in from the back. Remove them and the pad will come off. If you have cruise there is a push on wiring harness you have to unplug and a ground wire to pull out. The steering wheel attachment nut on mine takes a 15/16" socket. Remove nut and take a wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. You will be looking at the turn signal switch. You could check to see if anything looks broken. When you get ready to reinstall, if you look in the steering wheel hub there should be a flat spot that marries up to a flat spot on the steering column shaft for alignment. If your steering wheel still locks you will see a ring on the face of the turn signal switch that has (2) pins on it. I think one is sort of copper looking and the other aluminum. When I put my wheel back on I had to set the copper pin in line with the fourth spline from the flat on the column in a counterclockwise motion to get it to lock.
