The cheap, early kingpin D60 is an urban legend in the wheeling world. Kinda like the easter bunny and Elvis sightings... If I could buy them for under $800 and resell them, I could afford to quit my day job.

I don't know RC I'm here on the East coast.I had one here @ the classifieds and CL I tryed for 4 months.Started @ 1K and finally sold it for 750.00 locally. It was a fresh take off from a drvr not a dead trk w/354's.Maybe a fluke, shipping cost.my location,MAYBE ME ,That's the 3rd one I've sold and have't broken 900.00 yet.I think the 1200 is doable in the West and down South, but can't get it up here and yes they all had king pins

Maybe out there, but there are plenty of them with ball joints out here in NH and MA and they can be had for 500.00 or less if the buyer pulls it.

The secret to finding cheap D60s is to buy the entire truck, swap in a 44, resell the truck, and sell teh 60 separate (or just part the truck out, either way works good if you have the time, space and inclination to do so.)

They are out there but pretty rare in the west coast. Sure you come across them now and then and get a steal, but it's not too common.
The guy I bought my dodge from had earlier that week found a front and rear 60 in a truck yard, pulled and bought both for $200 each He sold the pair for $1600 a day or 2 later. He said a guy drove from Fresno (couple hundred miles) to get them the same day he listed them - just to make sure they wouldn't be sold to anybody else...

I HAVE a 80's D60 and have kinda been looking at options for putting it in my 74 crew. I think I'm going to fab radius arms and run a coilover on it. For me this isn't too much fab. For most it probably is.

Like others have said the options are limited - pretty much move your springs outboard of the frame (not a bad choice if done correctly - just look at the reaf for ideas), run an offset shackle system to move the springs (a little tricky), or go to a 4 link or radius arm setup with a coil or coilover.

Hey guys,
I have a 78 F250 4 x 4 that has the D60's in it. I am parting out the truck so both are available for sale. I will be taking them out in the next week and hauling them to the swap meet here in Houston. If anyone is close and would like to buy them before hand you can contact me at ibuyfordtrucks@gmail.com. I am not interested in shipping these as it is two much of a hassle. If you are really interested lets talk.

Glenn
