Yep, the 96 does in fact have RKE as long as youhave the XLT package. Mine remaining one still works even after going for a swim in the lake this past summer. Good to know I can find replacements and reprogram them. Thanks to all for the good hints. Skip
95 has it also, mine's a 95 XLT. I bought a new fob on EBay, bu tit cam ewith real sketchy instructions. I cannot find the connector you need to jump to pu it into program mode...??
Did you look through this thread???? I have pics posted on page 2 or 3 with exact location. Check through it. If you still have questions let me know
EDIT: Page 3 post #39
If you don't have something that looks like that under your dash, you don't have RKE... I found out that not all XLT's Have RKE... Hopefully you do though!
The 95 f259 PSD that I rolled last year has it. I miss that on the 94 that I have now. I am in the middle of a motor trany swap now. All the wiring harnesses have to be swapped too,
I will look for the black box and associated wires and try to install in my 94.
Thanks for the info
My truck has been a real high maintenance cow lately. Too much going on to enjoy this strand. However, I do have the RKE box and can figure out how to program. What are the best FOBS at the best price? My pass. side lock won't open with the key anymore and I would love to impress my wife by opening her door from my pocket. She hates my truck right now. Green eyes all the way.

just to let you all know, the keyless entry is NOT in all 96 XLT's I have a 96 XLT crew cab powerstroke 7.3 and there is a dummy in where I think is the keyless wireing. there is a plug there plugged into that dummy, and is doing nothing. now I wish I knew where to get that remote reciever.
