Keyless Entry?

97 XLT here... no keyless entry
Checked my FIL's 95 XLT and no keless entry either. I did get excited for a min... when I looked under his dash for the module I saw what I thought was it untill I realized it was the chime box (PO removed mine)
Do the gassers of this vintage have the same setup also. Next time at at the junkyard (Used Auto Parts Retailer) i might see if I can score one.

Well guys, I wish it was as easy as just "getting a box" A while back, BareBackJake and I were looking for them. Well, I found them. Actually a bunch of them. The problem is, these boxes are wired into the main harness under the dash. And they have ALOT of wires. I bought two hoping it would be a plug and play for me and Jake. But after looking around under the dash, the plugs for the RKE were nowhere to be found. Either Ford hid them really good, or some XLT's just weren't set up for keyless, but did have power acc. So unless someone finds the gold mine of plugs under the dash, it's not just plug and play.

from what i can tell that is the plug for the door dinger. does yours ding when you open the door with the key in the ignition? I think that braket right behind the plug is where the dinger mounts.

Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located
at the base of the steering column.
All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode.
Press any button on 1st transmitter. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. Press
any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). Turn ignition to OFF.
Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
