Thanks for the info Tayln. Today I took a close look at my driveshaft parts. After cleaning them all up it looks like the only part that needs replacing is the front half. The piece that goes from the transfer case through the carrier and connects to the bottom half. I put new joints on it today and put it back in the truck. I'll have to deal with it until I can find that part. I may just order one from ford.
my drive shaft is 3foot long exactly.
They quoted me 1200 at the dealership.
with the output spline, 1 yoke, 2 U-joints and the U-joint companion flange, i payed 360 to have one made from an exisiting drive shaft I had. Ballanced, and ballance warrenty.
I highly recomend spicer parts if you need parts. I love mine! will always by spicer ujoints from now on. They are holding up super well on this high drive shaft angle i have compared to the other ones I put in.
Since you will have your drive shaft for them to take measurements on, things will work out for you.
I had to do lots of double check measuring to make sure mine was right, and ended up with the 3'
Gotta set the spine up right in the shaft with the correct play, then measure eyelit to eyelit center, and i double checked it 3 or 4 times. Just to make sure.
The ujoints and cleaning of the yokes have gone a long way. My vibrations are still there but not nearly as bad. At least now I can drive it until I have that top half replaced.
As for the limited slip. I added another bottle of the modifier. It seemed to help some, but not a lot. Should I add more? I found today I also have two broken cab bushings, both on the rear. I think those are adding to the noise when the axle starts banging around. Im going to get those doen this week and go from there.
