another lift question

i have a 97 f250hd and have decided to go with a 4" tuff country lift. i have heard mention of axle wrap when using lift blocks. what is axle wrap, and at what point do blocks create axle wrap? is it when you put it larger than stock blocks? thanx for any help.

Axle wrap is when the axle tries to twist in it's mounts due to engine/driveline torque. The pinion angle is affected when the axle 'wraps'. Yes, a tall block creates a longer lever for the axle to act on, thus the increase in 'wrap' with tall blocks. You should be fine going with one 4" block, since that's what the F350's come with straight from the factory. Do not stack blocks on top of blocks, big no-no. I would avoid using any block taller than 6". You're better off going with an add-a-leaf or lift springs than blocks.
