I have ran Jet-A in my 6.0. I have always tried to keep it at about a 50% mix of Jet-A and Diesel. I did it for about 6 months and then I got scared that I would start eating injectors so I started using straight diesel again. So far no problems that I can attribute to the Jet-A. With the price of diesel reaching for the $4.oo mark I think I am going to start using Jet-A again since I get it for free. I am an aircraft mechanic and can get all the Jet fuel that gets de-fueled from planes in maintenance. I think I will add PowerService additive to it this time for the lubricity.
That should do well.
Jet A is primarily kerosene, which is #2 with most of the sulpher removed. Unfortunately sulpher provides most of the lubricity for diesel. Powerservice should replace it.
If you can find some BD to mix in you won't need the Powerservice.
This jet fuel sounds expensive
last year on the radio I heard airlines were complaing about jet fuel reaching $1.30
My torpedo heater, says it'll burn kerosene, fuel oil , diesal, jetfuel
kero was over $4 at the time, but couldn't find a local (small) airport that stocked jet at the time.
If I find a place, is it a purchaseing problem, and whats it actually going for?
Where I work we purchase jet fuel for about $3.60. The places that you can buy jet fuel in my area are selling fuel at about $5.80 to $6.00. So yeah it is expensive.

Free money!
With current diesel prices, a surplus tank trailer with an SPR hookup would look good. I'd grab ALL the fuel I could get and sell it on the side to my trucker buddies.
Yes it is alot... Its a rip-off what they charge to fuel a jet when like you say...its only kerosene with an additive for microbial growth prevention. I get it for free or I wouldn't even bother trying to run it in my truck.
