2001 Platinum Edition Visor
Anyone here have a platinum edition (2001 only I believe)?
I believe they all came with what I would call the cab visor that has integrated lights in it.
Mine rattles, squeeks, probably hurts mileage and feel like it could break/fly off when driving into the wind.
I would like to remove it but am worried about what might lie underneath. Would be nice if I could mount normal cab lights in place of it without any modifications.
Anyone know?

WOW, I only had the gold edition Leriet. 
Can you show a pic of what you are talking about? Unless you have one of the short bed dually graphic truck I have seen. I would like to see this.

That old thread is disappointing but answers the question. For those who want to know what a platinum edition looks like....here is one on Ebay. The are all this color I believe.

yeah, but they mentioned the other site that I don't want to or post a link to. i took a look and there is some good info, but no method is going to be easy.

I have a 2001 platinum and my visor was doing the same thing. it is a lot of work to take it off. i think 8 screws on top of the visor to remove it and one wireing harness to on plug. if the nut plates on the back of the screws are broke (like mine were) you will need to pull down the head liner. and after you do all this you will find out that the mounting bracket for the visor is tack welded to the cab and to remove that you need to know what you are doing and will have to repaint. sorry for the bad news maby cheaper to fix.
