Sun visor with cab lights?

So I can get a sun visor off a '73 f250 for a good price, really want a sun visor. But I went out and looked at my truck to imagine what it would look like and saw what could be a little problem. So I have cab lights on my cab and I'm not too fimiliar with the mounting of visors, so would it fit without moving (or removing) my cab lights? Thanks

I would've thought it'd fit, if you can buy it right then you can try it mocked up to see if it does or doesn't

I've got a Lund sun visor on my 79. As well as cab lights. It fits good, clears the cab lights by a few inches if I remember right.

Thanks guys! She's gonna be looking real nice soon. It doesn't come with hardware but that shouldn't be an issue, just drill a few holes and bolt (or rivet) it on?

I don't think you'd wanna use rivets. I can't remember if mine are Bolted on or screwed. Either way you'll want to use stainless. And I'm pretty sure the original hardware supplied with new visors have an O-Ring or grommet of some kind to seal your cab from the elements.

As far as the visor fitting with cab light I think it depends on it your cab lights are factory installed or by the PO??

FYI those sun visors can be a terrible rust magnet to your roof, A pillars and all the way down your door hinge mount area and as well as the rocker panels.

Yes on stainless and use o rings under the head and use plenty of sealant. Good luck with the fit.

Back in the day when those visors were popular I painted and installed a pile of them.An approx. 3/16 hole was drilled after CAREFULLY positioning the visor & marking the hole locations then set the visor aside while drilling. A glob of silicone at least the size of a marble directly on each hole then set the visor very gently into place without squishing the silicone all over the place.I would use a slender ,sharp,pick-like line up tool to gently place the visor exactly where it is intended to go. Then you screw the self tapping screws that had ,I think ,a 7/16 hex head, into each siliconed hole . Don't over tighten, just real snug. Now, keep in mind side to side positioning as well as back to back before marking holes. And if a windshield needs to ever be replaced usually the visor has to be removed to get to the upper glass moldings. Also ,once the visor is removed the holes you drilled are kind of a 1 shot deal sometimes so you might have to go to the next larger self tapper & of course re-seal. Just some pros & cons I've encountered. Good Luck! Gary
