is it viking blue with white? do you have pictures?? my truck was viking blue originally and i'm thinking about staying original but switching to a 2-tone paint scheme. i'm kind of curious what it looks like.
Look thru the members galleries for tutone trucks. The two tone paint scheme was essentially the same 1961/66.
My father and I split the cost of a new 1964 F100 ($2039; 292 V-8, Custom Cab, LWB, styleside, 4 speed, 2-tone blue & white) in September 1964.It was the farm truck until 1972 when my dad bought a new F100 and I claimed the old '64 as a second vehicle. I still have the truck and drive it at least twice a week to the office and haul miscellaneous stuff around town. My dad left a load of stock salt in the bed for about 6 months while I was in the Army, which obviously did a little damage. I rebuilt the engine in 1973, restored the body (bought a good bed from a salvage yard) in 1980, and had the seat rebuilt in 2007. The truck could use a refresher restoration now, but it still gets regular compliments. Current mileage is about 230,000.
Great to see the passion for these great trucks ! Brings back memories of when mine was road worthy many years ago - it also was the favorite dry spot for our cat. If a rain shower would come up he would sit on the left front tire until we let him in or the shower ended.
The truck is a light blue/white tu-tone with red stripe on the chrome mouldings on the cab and bed. I don't have any digital photos at this time but will try to get some posted within the next week or two. FYI, the perfect DuPont match for the blue is their 83345A Blue acrylic enamel (at least that was their color number in 2001, when I re-painted my door interiors).
4 years, bought my '65 F-350 for $500 at age 14, got her on the road at age 16 when i got my liscense, and she's still strong now at age 18. She's on her second engine and has taken somewhere around $5k, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Love to hear that the BlueOval is still running thru a young man & women viens. I guess I should say "Lighting Bolt".
Number Dummy; your still the originial in my opinion;

Owned my 1963 F100 unibody since Summer 2004.
Bought it from original owner family (father-to-son) in 2004.
The father bought it new in Holly Hill South Carolina in 1963.
Then, the father & his son drove it from South Carolina to Delta Junction Alaska in 1977 when the father gave the truck to his adult son.
Two years later, in 1979, the father passed away and the son kept, and preserved the truck in memory of his father; until the son sold it to me when he was 75 years old.
So, the original owner (father) owned the truck 14 years.
The second family member/owner (son) owned the truck 27 years.
And myself, the current owner, have owned the truck 12 years.

Cool story, hopefully you'll get some feedback on this. You see, the last post on this thread was 2-24-2008
Hopefully there's still members here who were active on this thread.
Thank you for your reply, and, how quickly 8 years fly by.
I've been reviewing posts and threads for the past few weeks in an effort to get caught up on communications that have transpired since I was last on the site, regularly, before I was mysteriously unable to gain my member access since sometime late in 2008(?).
Now that I have that little hiccup sorted I'm good.
This (old) thread was interesting, and, I would like to see if there are other members who would like to chime in and provide updates of their current or previous ownership history.
Since this thread doesn't require any 'techie' updates, that might be rendered as out-dated after 8 years, I think this thread can be considered to be somewhat 'timeless' as to its duration - in my opinion.
I have been enjoying many of these threads in my efforts to catch up; this was one thread I thought I'd chime in on. I know there must be more participants out there who have a good story or ownership history... Please contribute.
Bought my 66F100 from my wife's grandfather in January 1989. It was my daily driver for years. Now it takes me down to the fishing dock and around the lake shore.
Bought my 65 F100 in 1973, worked on it for 1 year, put license's on it in 1974,
Still riding it at from zero to 79K miles and by the way I'll be 81 years old next month in May. Stilling going strong!! Lightning5
Great stories, glad this thread was revived! Wish everyone had posted pictures though.
Bought mine 2years ago... 62 f250 223 i6 4speed 488 rear. Love the wrongbed, wish I could drive her more.
good morning all, i haven't had my slick that long only bout two years now, it has been a fun and challenging road, fun because i like old stuff but i don't remember it being such a pain in the butt back twenty years or so ago when i had a bump side to find stuff for it! Plus theres a lot to learn about all the stuff Ford changed during that run.
The best part about this truck is that my 9 year old loves it and love to help dad work on it, heres a couple pics of our work in progress. she's up n running now theres nuthin more i like to hear from my boy "dad can we take the old truck today?" ... you bet! the last pic was pretty important to me because I promised to make it to a car show with the truck and him after working on it all summer, this was taken at the LAST car show of the year and it was the maiden shakedown run!
Found this original, brand new, license plate at a local car show flea market about 10 years ago. I was going to use it as a vanity plate for show purposes. I took it back to the registry of motor vehicles to see if they would allow for it to be reactivated. To my surprise, they are putting it under review since it is for a collector vehicle! That'd be a neat touch to have the longest surviving plate on a long running truck!
