Just wondering who has owned their slick the longest. I'm not talking I got it from my dad, however that's important and also cool. I'm just a pup to some of you guys; I've owned my 65 for only 6 years.lol
Two weeks here also.......but first thing I ever "drove" was my grandfather's 66 4x4 Slick at Age 5. He put her in granny, hopped in the back and threw hay to the cattle as I drove (steered) around a pasture at 1 mph. That one got away, but have always love these slicks and finally have one of my own!
24 years and 11 months. She has 689,000 miles and I bought her the month before my son was born. Unfortunately two months ago the rust got the best of me and she is no longer a driver but will be passing on some of her parts and living on as a doner.
Ol'red was the first truck I ever bought out of a guys yard I used to mow. I was 17 or 18. Paid $500 for it and it ran like a top. Well I ended up selling it after getting a 69 with more power and an automatic. I sold Ol'red to my step-dad and ended up getting her back 2 1/2 years ago, give or take. The red headed step child has taken a lot of money out of my pocket and is unfortunately for sale now. I replaced her with a cherry 66 with a 300 straight six two weeks ago. Same engine that 69 had in it. That poor 64 just keeps getting dumped at the prom by those 300's, lol.

I have had mine for 11 years now, a 1965 F-100. My grandpa did buy it brand new in 1965 and gave it to me when I got my driver's license. I have been tinkering with it ever sense. I cannot imagine not having it to drive or tinker with. I have to say IMHO the 65 is one of the best-looking Ford pickups made.
I've had 6's for 3 years now. Just finished the rebuild on the 240 & put a T19 in her. I'm a HAPPY lady!! (Now I have to get started on the body work... )

I bought it a few months ago............but with snow in the mountains and the holiday madness of late Dec, I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago. It had no brakes to speak of so I had to pick it up and trailer it home - so the repairs could begin.
As a recovering cowboy, it is nice to have an old farm truck ( as another recovering cowboy called it ) around again. It has already become a member of the family.
I've had my 60 for 3 and a half years and I have had my 66 a little over a year now! Love 'em both! my '60 I bought for $250 from my college I attend! Runs like a champ and it has "natural" floorboard airconditioning! haha!
