Got mine from a Gov't aution in sept.1970 it was a army veh. 300 6 /3 on the tree still have pic's with the olive drab color, had a big hole in the dash where they took out the army radio...had a hard time getting the title fixed because the org.owner was the army and no one would sign the title....but got it worked out, so really I'm the second owner but if you run the vin# I'm shown as the org.owner, but it was well used had 116537 mile on it got it on sealed bid of $189.00 as is and drove it home that day with a new batt and gas......the rest is a very long story

Got to love these trucks ! I have a 1964 F-350 that I bought back in the 70's. The cab got crushed in 1998 due to an ice storm that cruched the building it was in. But I haven't given up on it - looking for another cab. I also have a 1965 M-600 (Mercury) that I want to restore. I bought the 65 in the mid 80's. I always loved the style - remember when they were new !

I bought ( Jo- 66 custom cab ) in 1973 ( 35 years) at a road construction sale for 350.00 . it had 162,000 miles on. rebuilt it and drove it to 495,000 miles with one more rebuild in it in between. wore it out and parked it for a number of years and two years ago completely restored it. parted out three trucks over the last 20 years accumulating parts. LOL. in love with that truck. just turned to 500,000 miles last fall. Dutch

Bought my first in about '83, a 66 camper special. Sold it to go on the road.
I now have a 65 half ton Custom Cab that I bought around '88 or '89. It is currently getting disc brakes, power steering and a new c6 and torque converter, when I can work on it that is.
I've also got a '66 short box with a 460/c6 and nine inch in storage. haven't done anything to it myself yet though.

65 short styleside - two and a half months. After the flatbed dropped it off I drove it into the garage where it sits now. Bought the 65 because my Dad's last tow truck for his business was a 65. Lots of memorys of Dad and me as a little kid yanking in cars and trucks with that one.

The 74 donor is just about torn down, and the 65 will be getting the djm drop, disc, PS. And Dad is still around to help and constantly remind me how much he hates Fords.

I've had my '65 F250 for 31 years (bought her in 1977) and it has 336K on the odometer. My '66 F100 is a fairly recent addition at only 8 years. Steve
