ok i have a 04 f350 fX4 extended cab short bed and recently durring a snow storm i wrecked the bed. I am in the process of trying to find a used short bed to buy, color doesnt matter so if anyone has one please let me know, or if they know of a palce where i can find 1. Back to the question though. In the spring/summer i have a landscaping business that i do on the side and i was figuring that while i have the bed off i might as well put in a dump bed kit because it will become very usefull come spring. My question is, i plan on doin stacks at some point and was jsut wondering if anyone has and idea or solution on how to go about doin this considering that the bed is going to be lifting up and down. There was a suggestion made to me to set them up like a big rigs, have them come out the sides at the edge of the bed on the outside and put the chrome guards that big rigs have on them too. what do you guys think abotu this idea because i cant quite tell if it will look goofy or, if done right, could look pretty bad ***.... any idea or sugestions woudl be great... Thanks guys
Yeah, man! Stacks! But I'm kinda partial like that. I have an idea but not sure if/ how it would work. My company has a whole fleet of Volvo off-road dump trucks and with the body heaters there is a disconnect, for lack of a better word, for when the body goes up the exhaust separates. If there are any construction sites or equiptment dealers near you maybe check it out. You'd probably have to fab some stuff to make it work, or maybe it won't work at all, but just a suggestion anyways. HTH
ya i was thinking that same thign also, making it so that the stacks themselves are strationary to the bed and kind of disconnect from the pipe when the bed goes up... anyone else have any ideas?
I was thinking that with stacks, you can't really use the space around the pipes anyway, so just move the end of the bed in front of the pipes...
Oh, and I've saw a "regular" truck with the pipes coming up the side...You know the saying about the monkey and the football...Yeah, that's about what it looks like...
tippi98, i to am in the landscaping business and am thinking about buyin a 99 to 01 350 crew cab with a 7.3 sometime this year or nxt year. But anyways ill get back on to my point. When i get my truck, i would really want to put stacks on it and i need a dump bed like u. So anyways, i researched this topic on google after i read this thread and came up with this. I know its kind of expensive, but here it is.
