Quick spool housing install ?'s

Anyone installed the 1.0 housing without totally removing the turbo. It looks like it can be done. Take the 4 nut/bolts off the uppipes and then undo the downpipe and the 4 bolts that connect the housing to the turbo. I just go the f-6 chip and love it. I also want to know how quick that thing spools up. Mine takes forever. Boost builds really slow. 4th gear @ 2k mash the pedal and @ 2800 it gets to 17 maybe 19 psi. Hopefully I can test for boost leaks today. Spent yesterday getting my dual 4" stacks on. Almost. Waiting for my brackets to mount to the bed. Oaky rigged it for now. In 60 hp econo I roll coal every gear even when I don't put the hammer down. Looks pretty cool coming out them stacks. Anyway, I really don't want to yank the whole turbo ou if I can avoid it. By changing to the 1.0 housing do I need to have my chip reflashed? Thanks for the info and picks of the stacks rolling coal with soon come.

No way to do that without pulling the turbo.

I have had the turbo out before to do my E-fuel and ebpv delete. Jus not looking forward to do it again. Although this time I know how to get to them dang bolts. Is the reason for having to pull the turbo that u cant get to the bolts or how the housing comes off and on. Aka lack of room. It looks like it can be done but I haven't put any wrenches in there to see what kind of room there is just put my hand in there and found the bolts. If u haven't noticed I am a little stubborn. Lol. I know someone has tried it and curious as to what issue they ran into. Is it the removal or install when things go to crap Or possibly both. Lol

I took my turbo off when I ran the 1.0 housing. I don't see any other way.

I put some wrenches in there yesterday. I might just have to give'r hell and see what happens. I was able to get to all 4 bolts that hold the housing to the turbo. With the 1.0 housing and stock Cali sticks and the f-6 chip I wonder how fast it would boost? I rode in a buddies ol 96 dodge and was amazed how quick his turbo spooled. He mashed the peel and bam full boost. Well one of these rare days off and no honey do list I will have to check for these dang boost leaks I might have.

Mine spooled quicker but it wasn't any 'amazing'. I pull heavy and it eventually took out my turbo.

I also installed another boost gauge. My other one was digital so I put a mechanical in and noticed a lot of fluttering when boosting is that normal?

My truck inly makes about 15psi boost in stock setting.... Turn the chip up to 50 or 75 plus and the stage ones really come alive. Boost goes up to 30 psi in nothing flat!

It's a brand new autometer. I very rarely tow. I don't even start building boost until 2k maybe even more, then it is really slow. One of these days after I get my stacks COMPLETELY installed ( hopefully this week) I will change it out and see how I like it. Any idea if I have to get my chip reflashed after doin the swap or should I just contact Jody.
